Wallets for crypto currencies: So you keep full control over Bitcoin and Co.

The following article introduces three cross-platform wallets that you can use to store and exchange different crypto currencies.

The price of Bitcoin and other crypto currencies is currently rising again. What is also increasing is the number of different crypto currencies and tokens. Many users are no longer on one system as they used to be. The smartphone is a constant companion for many people and not infrequently there are different systems on the desktop computer and the laptop. It therefore makes sense to buy a wallet for crypto currencies that is cross-platform on the one hand and supports multiple blockchains on the other. It is not recommended to keep all your coins in exchanges or bitcoin casinos.

Exodus is a desktop application available for Windows, Mac and Linux. The program not only generates an overview of your portfolio, but also offers wallets and support for more than 100 crypto currencies. Besides well-known cryptos like Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum, Golem, Eos, Augur or Dash, it also supports lesser known currencies like Aragon, Ox or Bat. So you can receive, send and store all these coins and tokens using Exodus.

Note: Crypto currencies that bet on their own blockchain are called coins. Examples would be Bitcoin or Litecoin. Currencies that are based on an existing, i.e. “foreign” block chain are called tokens. Examples would be Bat or Augur, which are based on the Ethereum blockchain.

Thanks to the built-in shapeshift function, it is possible to exchange crypto currencies quickly and conveniently. For example, if you only have Bitcoin and Litecoin, you can add more currencies to your portfolio without having to register and verify with additional exchanges.

In addition, Exodus provides a connection to the Trezor hardware wallet for those who want more security. Now Exodus is also available as an app for Android and iOS:

Jaxx Liberty

Jaxx Liberty currently supports 85 different crypto currencies and, like Exodus, is available as a desktop version for Windows, Mac and Linux. There is also an interface to Shapeshift, so you can exchange crypto currencies with each other

Coinomi offers the broadest crypto currency support compared to Exodus and Jaxx Liberty. A total of 125 blockchains and thousands of tokens are supported. Unlike Exodus, Coinomi started as a smartphone app, but there is now also a desktop version for Windows, Linux and Mac. Coinomi also has a swap exchange, so you can also swap between the crypto currencies.
